Understanding Context
Contextualization is the process by which we put events, people, and their ideas in their proper context. Context refers to the situation, or "world" the events take place in. In history, we must think about what it was like to be alive at that particular historical time. What was different from our time? What was the same? What did people value? How did people live?
LEQ's: Long Essay Questions
These were previously called FRQs (Free Response Questions). Beginning in 2015-2016, the College Board has redesigned the test, including this essay portion. They are now called LEQs- Long Essay Questions. They are written in much the same format as the old FRQ, but are graded differently. I will be updating this section as the College Board distributes additional resources.
